If a close relative at home suffers an accidental injury, serious illness or dies suddenly, then your travel insurance policy may be able to help get you home.
Sometimes it’s very hard to tell who is a close or not so close relative. Some relatives we would travel with anywhere in the world, others not so much. But for our insurance purposes and to clear up any confusion, we’ve defined it for you in the policy.
Close relative means your spouse/ partner, fiancé, fiancée, parent, parent-in-law, daughter, son, adopted or de facto daughter or son, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchild, grandparent, step-parent, step-brother or step-sister, step-son, step-daughter or guardian normally residing in the UK.
