Hey there, adventure seekers! If your trip takes an unexpected twist and you're wondering about travel insurance for emergency transport, medical evacuation, and repatriation expenses, we've got the scoop you need.
You're out there chasing thrills, but accidents happen. Whether you stumble upon an injury, catch a serious bug, or face the unimaginable, we've got your back when it comes to emergency transport, medical evacuation, and getting you safely back home to the UK
You must carry your valid UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to access medically necessary, state provided healthcare.
GHIC is your passport to accessing state healthcare at a fraction of the cost or even for free. If you already possess a UK European Health Insurance Card, fret not! It remains valid until the expiry date displayed on the card. However, when that time comes, it's important to apply for a GHIC to seamlessly continue enjoying the benefits.
Cover available under this travel insurance policy is in excess of any statutory health insurance, or any available reciprocal health agreements (including your Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)).
Picture this: you're in a sticky situation, and you need emergency medical transport. No worries! The location and your medical situation play a vital role in determining your options. Depending on where you are and the circumstances, we'll find the most suitable medical facility and mode of transport. We're well aware that your adventure can take you to remote corners of the world, so we've got the know-how to navigate those challenging situations.
Whether it's a road ambulance or a helicopter ride (when medically necessary), or any other suitable means, we'll whisk you away to the nearest, quality hospital or medical facility. And if the situation calls for it, we'll go above and beyond with air ambulances and class upgrades. It's like flying first class in an emergency!
Remember, it's important to keep us in the loop. If our Emergency Assistance team is not contacted or if you arrange your own repatriation or transport that is determined to not be medically necessary or reasonable under the circumstances, cover may be limited. We are experienced in handling the logistics so let us navigate the mazy path that is emergency medical transportation for you.
Sometimes, getting back home is what you need most. If our Emergency Assistance team determines that repatriation is medically required, we've got your back.
Please note, these medical transport and repatriation benefits are payable, subject to our approval, for up to a maximum of 12 months from the date the sudden illness first manifested or the injury happened.
No one wants to think about it, but we've got your back even in the face of tragedy. If you pass away while adventuring overseas, our repatriation cover steps in. We'll take care of:
